#72237 3rd shift - Senior Developer-level Technical Support Engineer - 3rd shift Sophisticated and complex data warehouse / data management product company seeking a particularly strong database customer engineer to be the first 3rd shift engineer in this 24/7 support environment. Troubleshoot, debug and resolve customer issues focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, and transfer of knowledge to customers and engineering. Work with customer and internal developers to identify and implement enhancements to the product and improve robustness and serviceability. Manage escalations and ensure timely and high quality resolution of all issues. Develop and implement strategies for providing proactive support resulting in fewer incidents. Initiate and participate in triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and to efficiently resolve customer problems. Required: Extensive knowledge of SQL is required. Must have the ability and experience in reading core files, analyzing and rewriting queries, and database performance optimization. Demonstrated current technical competence with Unix and database technologies and strong knowledge of TCP/IP. Deep technical support experience, preferably some experience in development or sustaining engineering. Experience working with customers to resolve issues. 4-year degree. Demonstrated experience debugging Linux applications written in C++. Knowledge and experience debugging system level issues. Familiarity with user and kernel mode debuggers.
