Position Summary:

Full life cycle developer capable of supporting the early life cycle phases of analysis, design and documentation.

Working knowledge of VSAM, Relational databases (DB2 with QMF and/or SPUFI), CICS Environment (multi-region organization), CICS pointer and addressing, and XML (and other tag based data).

Excellent written and verbal communications skills. May be required to provide technical documentation, data flow diagrams and system specifications.

Strong analytical/validation skills and experience in development of test plans.

Expert Mainframe Programming skills in COBOL, CICS, Batch processing, and Mainframe tools/utilities.

Ability to research problems and provide solutions.

Self-starter, highly motivated individual required who can adapt to changes in client requirements

Familiarity with current developments trends like component based architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA), reusability, scalability, encapsulation and understand how to apply the trends in a mainframe environment

Must be a Team player - possess the ability to lead as well as work in a support capacity.

Hands-on experience with Websphere Application Server (WAS) is a plus.

Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4+ years or more of professional experience.
