Immediate need for database administrator seeking a competitive benefits package, vesting in the company's 401(k) with a growing defense services and consulting firm. An active secret clearance, bachelor's degree (or higher) in information technology or related field, and experience with military networks and systems and/or relevant military background will be keys to success in this growing organization. Will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network operating systems. Provide IT/Data Management support to the Army's HTS Program, both nationwide and abroad. Individual provides technical support and assistance to all contracting users of the HTS support network. Will also identify and assess network performance for hardware/software application and utilization; initiate appropriate actions to optimize performance via system fine-tuning, system integration patches, hardware and/or software enhancements; ensure that appropriate activities take place to maintain system hardware/software/data/security. Install, configure and maintain LAN backup systems. Analyze effectiveness of assigned operational systems to detect areas requiring improvement. Recommend changes, improvements and checks and balances; propose refinements, and improvement of system. Confer with Knowledge Management Team in assigned areas on potential or requested uses of data processing systems. Coordinate with all operating elements in implementing changes to work flow, space or machine requirements resulting from new programs. Test, evaluate, and install microcomputer software, upgrades, and programs for both technical and business network applications utilizing personal knowledge of various subject-matter areas and through review and analysis in coordination with system/program users and subject-matter specialists both internal and external to HTS.
