The Principal Information Technologist shall provide technical experience in highly specialized technical and professional areas, on an enterprise-wide scale. Such areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to: human factors engineering, Section 508 compliance, business process engineering, computer security, network engineering, telecommunications, configuration management and other technical and non-technical areas. Qualifying experience must include specific experience in deploying professional business and/or technical solutions across organizations with more than 40,000 users, or across smaller complex organizations with public/government/media exposure, or in other organizations where such expertise was relied upon to pursue new technologies, design lines of business, or defend business decisions before third parties. Must demonstrate knowledge of technologies/business practices and lessons-learned applicable to large enterprises, large scale projects and enterprise-wide deployments. Must demonstrate experience in the development of best practices for enterprise-size clients. May have specific experience with new and/or leading edge technologies and the deployment of these solutions to enterprise organizations.

Skills Requirements:

Required experience 10 -15 years:

. Participating in enterprise-wide Data Center IT projects and knowledge of IT Infrastructure day-to-day operations.

. Supporting the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, oversight, and closure of Continuous Availability projects and initiatives.

. Conducting or supporting a wide range of analyses and studies, including (as a representative sample): strategy formulation, alternatives analyses, requirements analyses, risk analyses, cost-benefit analyses, expenditures tracking, project and program progress/status/forecast reporting, and other analyses of budgets, spending plans, and funding, etc.

. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a must.

. Fundamental knowledge of ITIL principles is required.

. Experience with IT Project Management

o Project Scope Management, including all aspects of IT requirements management

o Project Integration Management

o Project Time Management

o Project Cost Management

o Program/Project Management Support direct to the Program/Project teams

o Project Quality Management

o Project Communications Management (both internal and external)


o Project Issues and Risk Management

o Program/Project Administration & Management (Daily Operations).


. Must be able to navigate in a Windows workstation setting, and have excellent knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).


Desired Experience with:

. Government Contracts

. Knowledge of Application Design, Development, Deployment, and Enhancements, Network Design, Development, Deployment, and Enhancements in a data center environment.


. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, web content, and minor date base applications development such as Microsoft Access.

Education and Certifications:


An undergraduate degree (BA/BS) from an accredited university in a related field or equivalent experience.

PMP Certification is a must.

ITIL Certification is a plus.
