Position Summary

Required Skills:
Data Center/Enterprise Level experience with Windows Servers/VMware/Linux a plus. Must have rack server install and build experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for leading or providing analysis, evaluation, troubleshooting, and resolution of major segments of hardware, software, network, or procedural problems within assigned areas of responsibility. Project Management of new implementations and upgrades. Evaluates new I.S. technologies. Responsible for adherence to testing and issue resolution guidelines. Provides technical input to budgeting and planning processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical support in the installation, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of hardware, operating system and applications within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Project management
  • Production control of assigned applications
  • Vendor management and interaction required
  • Works with CLIENT customers, management, contracted consultants, other support teams and systems vendors in planning, designing and specifying system requirements.
  • Provides technical support to customers on new or modified hardware, operating systems or applications
  • Researches, reports and tracks technical support issues
  • Maintains high level of technical competence in areas of his or her responsibility
  • Required to provide on-call support and work off-shifts as necessary
  • Provides training to other staff members as required

Education, Experience & Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, appropriate technical certifications or equivalent industry experience required
  • Requires 1-3 years for junior to mid level and 5-7 years for senior level of System Administration experience on Windows OS. Senior Level also requires VMWARE experience. One or more of the following a plus: (ie Linux, HP/UNIX, Sun/Solaris, AIX, Compaq Alpha/Open VMS, RS6000/AIX, AS400/OS400)
  • Experience implementing and administering Operations automation tools (ie BRMS, TSM, VPS AnyQueue, On-Demand)
  • Requires expertise with Windows and PC software programs including Outlook and Exchange, Microsoft Office suite, and other standard packages
  • Ability to think critically, assess input and develop possible solutions to identified or potential problems required
  • Superior organization and planning skills and excellent communication skills on all levels
  • Ability to coordinate a project and lead others effectively required
