Individual will work with customers to evaluate existing Oracle database for potential tuning/optimization. Will work with customer to implement Disaster Recovery for the Oracle database. Will monitor and maintain Oracle database and upgrade to security standards. Respond to production issues related to the database on an as needed basis.

Skills Requirements:
Must have extensive background in database design and development, database administration, data warehousing, and other database-related skills.

Strong oral and written communications skills.

Must have ability to:

Direct the development and testing of logical and physical database designs.

Direct the data analysis, database design, normalization, development, installation, and implementation of databases.

Direct the maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery of databases.

Direct database restructuring activities.

Work without technical oversight or as the leader of a team in a variety of roles as required; work with users and information systems development staff to determine data storage and access requirements.

Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.

Provide technical expertise and guidance in the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of database management systems.Perform reviews of logical and physical designs of existing databases and perform tuning to ensure maximum operating efficiency.

Education and Certifications:
BA/BS in related field, 10 years of progressive experience may be substituted for degree.

Oracle Database certification or comparable related certification.
