"Summer Internship" for Usability Assistant (Level 1)

The Mobility Platform User Research team is looking for an experienced usability engineer to provide immediate support the mobile Windows products. The ideal candidate will have a good overview of the software development process and be able to work and communicate effectively with product teams. Duties will include: planning usability work - including both benchmark and iterative lab studies and potentially field studies; reviewing specifications and providing effective guidance to the product team; creating and running questionnaires; and analyzing data, creating insights, and driving changes into the design and development process; effectively communicating and representing user-testing to product teams; documenting results; and creating guidelines and archival knowledge about users and design principles. Additional skills: communication skills; persuasiveness; ability to make group presentations.

Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years work-related experience in Human Machine Interaction or usability required
- Demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data required, definitely in the lab and preferably in the field.
- Excellent communication skills required
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
- Masters degree or better in Experimental or Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Human-computer Interaction, Applied Anthropology or related field required or equivalent experience a Plus!
