Description
WEB Hosting System Server Administrators (Tier III / Tier IV): This position directly interfaces with external clients and is highly visible. The position requires very strong technical professionals specializing in web hosting server administration and management. The associates are members of a team of technical lead server administrators who provide hosting support to many external clients. The overall responsibility is remotely managing client Hosting servers and application infrastructure platforms. In support of this platform, the associates are responsible for troubleshooting and analysis, fault resolution, configuration management, change management and performance management. The associates are required to monitor database performance and perform required tuning, manage space utilization, perform backup and recovery procedures, verify utility outputs and also perform the installation of patches and upgrades. Fault Management Resolution & Change Execution responsibilities include: - Restoring service on outage conditions - Participating in technical calls on outages and assisting with communications - Performing Change Control / MACD work - Adhering to fault management ticketing documentation - Assisting / Mentoring Tier 2 associates as needed - Fault resolution and ticket closure per Tier 3 queue Technical Support for critical situations - responsibilities can include: - Performing project / engineering reviews - Technically managing major / complex outages - Instituting instrumental improvements from technical perspective - Performing chronic analysis and corrective planning The job is in a production operations environment and requires 24 x 7 service coverage. A minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in Server administration is required. This position requires a broad spectrum skill set across both Unix and Windows systems platforms. Skills include experience in MS Advanced Server, IIS Administration and UNIX system administration on Sun Server System platforms. BMC Patrol and HP ITO are required along with knowledge of SQL and Qracle. Familiarity with Microsoft .NET Framework and XML (Metadata), Remedy, Compulert, Apache, iPlanet , Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas NetBackup, Webshphere, Weblogic, Webtrends, Linux, Biztalk are additional skills being sought. REQUIRED EDUCATION: 4 year IT or Computer Science Degree or equivalent technical certification. Job is in a 24 X 7 environment. Candidates need to understand shift is not an 8 to 5 dayshift. Candidate must be flexible and available to work any shift. Manager will identify the shift once person is here and he has thee opportunity to see where the skills can be best utilized.df-tc
