Our client has an immediate opening for a Jr. Developer that will be very heavily involved in Operations and Production Support as well as support their customers. The position will be more support than development. There will be a 24x7 duty pager Position is located in Alpharetta, GA will be a long-term contract assignment, 6+ months. Required Skills: 3-5 years experience in object-oriented development of J2EE applications Strong OO skills Must have ability to interface with the requirements team in the resolution of issues and solving problems in the effort to deliver the application Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate within various areas of the organization 2+ years Websphere Application Server 4.x/5.x Strong performance tuning skills Significant experience on Solaris and/or AIX Unix platforms required (kornshell, bash, etc.) Oracle SQL expertise required Customer Support/Service attitude Job Responsibilities: Will carry a 24x7 support pager Development of Java applications and frameworks/templates in a team environment Integration with internet web application servers (Websphere) Unit testing of responsible modules Participation in system testing and integration of application Performance testing of Unit/System.
