Scope of Work

Applicant will assist staff with creating and administering user accounts while working toward an automated user administration process.  The accounts will be in various applications as well as Unix and microsoft Windows

Competencies Required

-Knowledge of Sun Microsystems Solaris operation environment and core services such as NIS+, NFS, and RPC.


-Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server operation system and associated services (Authentication services, Name services, Printing, etc)


-Experience with Citrix Metaframe for Windows and Unix.  This includes farm maintenance, shared applications, load balancing, etc.


-Knowledge of Windows and Unix integration.


-Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP


-Extensive knowledge of BIND and FTP and have the ability to troubleshoot common problems.


-PERL scripting experience.  Ability to create custom scripts and maintain existing scripts in a Solaris environment.


-Solid knowledge of network and system security.


-Identify and correct problems which impact operating efficiency by continually assessing the performance of the operating system.


-Strong analytical skills. Oral and written communication skills also very important.


-Independent and highly motivated; able to work with minimal supervision.
