Complete Description:

The RFI contractor assists the RF team in performance management, spectrum analysis, and optimization of the existing iDEN system. The RFI contractor assists in review and development of site modifications and in conducting performance tasks in markets. The RFI contractor assists in ensuring that the network coverage, C/I, and performance objectives (dropped calls, blocked calls, etc) are met. The RFI contractor uses various measurement tools to collect and analyze relevant data including Spectrum Analyzers, RF Power meters, VSWR measurement tools, GPS system, RF data collection tools, RF Field Strength meters, and service monitors. In addition, the RFII contractor supports the team with C/I studies, sectorization planning, frequency planning, and developing growth and system optimization plans.

Minimum Qualifications: (Job related skills, experience, and education): Four-year college degree, BSEE degree preferred. Two to five years of RF Engineering experience in RF network design or RF performance engineering. Knowledge of and experience with the Motorola iDEN system and protocols strongly desired. Knowledge of IS-136 or GSM considered. Demonstrated ability to resolve RF link performance and interference issues. Strong written and verbal presentation skills required.df-tc
