Title/Role: ABC Technical Writer 3

Short Description:
Technical Writer 3 - A divisional requirement to document and update all application docs supporting General Svcs, Wholesale/Retail, Enforcement, Knowledge Systems, Security and Quality/Config of Mgmt systems.

Complete Description:
Client is located in Richmond and parking is provided for consultants. Expected duration is 12 months.

Duties:
The Technical Writer III will work closely with the Information Technology Services Division staff, as well as members of the Internal Audit division.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Developing and maintaining documentation in compliance with PCI, SEC501, and ARMICS compliance. Gathering, analysing, translating and composing technical information and data into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
Composing technical documents including user manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
Creating and/or editing functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.
Conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology.
Developing overall document strategy to ensure compliance and minimize redundancy, while maintaining a high level of quality, clarity and consistency.
Consulting with appropriate internal Subject Matter Experts to ensure veracity of documentation
Periodically review documents to identify unclear, outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate descriptions and procedures, and provide solutions in a timely manner. Track and report time.

Required Knowledge:
Associates degree in education, engineering, technology, or related field is required. Bachelor's degree preferred. A minimum of five (5) years related experience is required. Considerable knowledge of technology practices and procedures including Business English to ensure proper composition of documentation, spelling, punctuation and grammar usage is required. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project & Visio) is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of organization is required.

Desired Skills:
The demonstrated ability to gather/analyze pertinent information/data; distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information and arrive at logical conclusions; and develop reports is desired. Experience with personal computers, effective problem solving and independent decision making skills, and the demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations, work independently, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is preferred. The ability to interpret and apply complex rules, regulations and instructions, analyze data, and verify documents for accuracy/completeness are desired.

Excellent communication skills are a must!
