Description

Title/Role: ADEQ Technical Writer 2 - SC2

Short Description:
Tech Writer develops & maintains user & tech documentation. Understands the users view of applications and is able to put procedures into a logical sequence. This is a Full time position, but might eventually be reduced to part-time, 15-20 hrs/wk.

Standard TW1 and TW2 requirements. A detailed description specific to ADEQ follows:

Local candidates preferred.

Job: Update existing and create new user guides for data management software written at ADEQ. May also include technical documentation for the programs, and may eventually include network documentation and user support documentation.

Software:
Windows XP
Microsoft Word 2002 (the user guides are created in Word)
Adobe Acrobat (to create PDF copies of the user guides)
Paint Shop Pro for capturing and manipulating screen shots for the user guides (JPG and PNG files are used)
Visio

Additional requirements:
Very strong Word skills are required, as these manuals are large and strictly formatted, and they contain many flow charts and screen shots.
Very strong English language skills are required. (Some of the reviewers have strong opinions about grammar.)
Experience with documentation is required. (The Chicago Manual of Style is the primary style guide.) Examples of previous work will be required to be considered for the position.
