Apex Systems Milwaukee has an immediate need for a ADP Payroll, PeopleSoft Payroll, or Oracle Payroll Developer for a local client. This is a contract to hire opportunity. The client is looking for a Developer who can work with other I/T staff and end-users to fulfill business needs by supplying technical solutions utilizing the appropriate development languages and tools and mentors or guides less experienced developers. This person will be working on a team of 10.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience. Experience:
Three or more years experience in mainstream software development.
Three or more years experience with analyzing and developing project requirements and specifications.
Three or more years experience in an Application Developer I or equivalent role.
Experience with:
- Prior experience maintaining/working with a payroll application equivalent to ADP EV3/EV5 (ie. PeopleSoft, Oracle). This is a mus t - 3 years experience working with Oracle Database. This is a must. 3 years is nice but not a concrete requirement - 3 Years experience with SQR and ReportWriter applications. This is a must, 3 years would be nice
- 3 Years expeience working with Query/Query tools (ie Toad) - 3 Years PL/SQL experience - Experience with Java development - Experience createing use cases and use case realizations - Experience with Oracle 9i, 10g - E-Builder experience a plus - Kronos WFC 5.2 experience a plus
- Strong experience with SQL, SQL Constructs, and Embedded SQL development processes. This is a must
- Experience should include, but is not limited to, analysis, database and program design, programming and unit testing of software packages and internally developed systems.
- Must have a solid understanding of efficient batch and interactive processing and design.
POSTION SUMMARY: The Application Developer II works with other I/T staff and end-users to fulfill business needs by supplying technical solutions utilizing the appropriate development languages and tools and mentors or guides less experienced developers. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: No direct reports. Works directly with senior programming staff, business analysts, project managers, and other team members, to accomplish project goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
o Use approved system design methodologies, incorporating standards of screen, report and flow layouts.
o Perform detailed analysis of projects and develop technical specifications and assist junior staff in detail analysis and development of technical specifications.
o Accurately estimate the effort required to perform assigned development and analysis tasks.
o Manage small to intermediate sized projects to meet expected deliverables by the estimated time frames and dates.
o Work closely with Business Analyst and Project Managers to identify project risks and issues and to formulate methods to mitigate the risks.
o Work with database concepts to produce effective systems incorporating hardware, software, and communications elements.
o Create efficient and effective programming and database designs.
o Perform thorough and efficient unit, system, and integration testing activities.
o Participate in a peer review process to improve the quality of deliverables and minimize logic and other errors.
o Assure that application and program documentation is kept current and appropriate.
o Create user documentation and provide user training when appropriate.
o Provide end user and technical support of the systems and applications of the customer.
o Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced staff.
o Perform other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.
