This is an excellent opportuity to join an exciting company that is growing and working with the latest and greatest technologies. There is currently 1 immediate opening at this time. This is an initial 3 month contract role.

Job Description:

3 month inital contract, good possibility of being long-term contract, at least 50% travel

Required:

-Consulting experience/must be able to server as the client liaison, work with customer on-site, etc.
-This person will probably have at least 7 years experience with UNIX, primairily on AIX
-Sr. AIX (must be AIX) sys admin with some SQL experience, UNIX shell scripting exp, Network Analysis and troubleshooting and WebSphere experience.
-Good communication skills (will be on customer site 50% - 75% of the time)
-Willing to travel up to 75%

Nice to have: JAVA, C++ and Oracle experience

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the software performance engineering responsibilities during the customization and deployment of the company's retail and commercial banking product suite. Product implementations typically utilize IBM AIX, Sun Solaris and Microsoft Windows 200X based servers, connect up to a mainframe back-end, and support end-users connecting over geographically dispersed WANs via web browsers and JAVA clients

This position requires at least seven combined years of system administration, software development, large scale system deployment and software consulting experience. Experience with performance and scalability desired.

Overall duties include
. Serve as performance lead on customer engagements-managing all customer activities associated with simulating a large scale production system in full operation
. Conduct architecture review of proposed application and infrastructure system to ensure performance and related operation requirements will satisfied
. Diagnose and resolve production performance issues quickly and make technical recommendations to avoid reoccurrences
. Create software models using queuing theory to ensure performance requirements are met during software design and development
. Plan performance simulations, develop LoadRunner and WinRunner scripts, execute performance tests
. Analyze performance hot spots created by customizations to the application
. Make configuration changes within the OS and network layers, and web, application and database tiers to improve application performance and scalability
. Work with performance optimization expert on application performance problems
. Develop and present performance and scalability analysis, and deployment recommendations to clients and project teams

Education
BS Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical baccalaureate required
Masters of Science preferred.
