Description
SCOPE OF SERVICES:- Lead Build and Deployment activities for NYC Service infrastructure project.- Defining project scope and deliverables.- Defining detailed technical tasks and estimating resource requirements for deployment of new UNIX hardware and software.- Design/Architecture of large-scale IBM (P-Series) environments with a focus on high availability including the creation of detailed technical blueprints.- Installation, configuration, tuning, and security analysis of IBM AIX hardware.- Installation and configuration of web server and application software such as Sun One/Apache, Web Servers and WebSphere Application Servers.- Server sizing and capacity planning.- Creating and maintaining project plans and timelines for project lifecycles.- Reporting to upper management regarding project deliverables and status.- Working with other technologists and application team members on deployment of complex projects on the IBM AIX platform.MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: (Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.)8 + years experience with IBM/AIX System administration / engineering.Certified AIX Administrator with 7 years experience (minimum) with installation, configuration and maintenance of AIX, including AIX 5 within a large environment.Experience with: Performance monitoring and tuning, high availability clustering with HACMP and Disaster Recovery.TCP/IP / DNS Networking configuration experience with excellent problem solving skills.Veritas (VM, VCS & NetBackup).P-Series Hardware Installation, configuration and maintenance, including (LPAR, DLPAR, HMC & VIO).AIX Communications Server.Strong Shell Scripting.User and password administration.Installing, Configuring and maintaining DB2, WebSphere, Tivoli, TSM, SAN (Hitachi) and Blade Servers a plus.Extensive technical project management experience in rolling out large IBM P-Series deployments.Experience and willingness to support 24 x 7 production environmentsDESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:- Ability to serve as team lead and supervise others.- Ability to balance conflicting priorities and manage time to ensure success of simultaneous efforts.- Experience in technical architecture and design.This 6+ month position starts ASAP.
