Description
Prestigious company located in Chicago's Northern Suburbs is currently seeking an AIX Systems Engineer. Candidates should have Min. 5 years experience with IBM AIX operating systems and hardware; with knowledge of storage products from IBM, EMC and HDS. They need to demonstrated analytical and technical expertise with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of said systems. They needs experience with W-PARS, and micro-partitioning. They should also have a proven success record in the design, engineering, and implementation of technical architecture to meet business requirements. They should have experience as a project manager on medium to large projects.

The qualified candidate will have a strong knowledge of UNIX internals, Storage subsystems and Protocols including SAN, DAS, NAS, switches, vitalization, and network interfaces. Understanding of HA systems, clustering, Veritas Foundation Suite and Oracle preferred. The job requires good organizational and communication skills. Technology Operating Systems -AIX 5.3, 5.4 and 6.x Hardware - IBM P4, P5 and P6 systems. EMC DMX and Clariion systems; HDS Tag, Thunder and Lighting systems. Brocade Switches and Emulex and JNI HBAs. Software EMC Control Center and Powerpath. and IBM HACMP. Also Quest Foglight or other Performance Monitoring tools beneficial.df-tc
