 A Programmer Specialist leads the designing, coding, enhancing and testing of software applications to meet business process requirements.  He/she applies functional knowledge and technical expertise in the implementation of configuration changes and maintenance of software applications and has some oversight responsibility for the technology solution and assists in the development of the team. 
  Key responsibilities may include:
  • Planning, analyzing and defining high-level software strategies and solutions through functional and technical expertise and an understanding of the enterprise, business system and industry.
  • Supervising the design and implementation of analyses that will identify requirements related to people, processes and technology.
  • Participate in determining resource status and needs, and assisting in deploying resources to ensure organizational goals are met.
  • Ensure utilization of efficient and effective processes and standards in order to continuously improve the quality of processes, products and services.
  • Assisting in identifying, analyzing, mitigating and responding to project and operational risks.
  • Coach and mentor team in implementing all actions required to design, code, test and deploy an application.
  • Direct hands-on responsibility to design, code, test and deploy an application.
  • Overseeing the creation, execution and documentation of tests necessary to ensure that an application meets performance requirements.
  • Supervising identification of configuration changes to applications.
  • Support coaching/mentoring of junior team members
  • Participate in and support performance management, capability development and training for self and team.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements when needed

Experience/Skills
Qualifications
 
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience in Oracle Application development.
  • Bacherlors Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 5-7years experience in Oracle Applications – HR, Finance, Supply Chain Mgt, or Public Sector.
  • 5-7 years experience in Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, PLSQL, SQL Plus, Oracle API's, UNIX and Java.
  • A solid understanding of Oracle workflow is also desired.
  • 2+ years experience managing teams is prized.
