The San Antonio Delivery Center is part of the Accenture’s US Delivery Center organization, which is comprised of six delivery centers that create client value through innovative technology solutions primarily focused in Application Outsourcing, ERP solutions, Information Management Services, and Net Centric solutions.

The Sr. Java Development Specialist leads the designing, coding, enhancing and testing of software applications to meet business process requirements. He/she applies functional knowledge and technical expertise in the implementation of configuration changes and maintenance of software applications and has oversight responsibility for the technology solution and the development of the team. 
 
Key responsibilities may include:      
 
  • Leading the planning, analysis and definition high-level software strategies and solutions through functional and technical expertise and an understanding of the enterprise, business system and industry
  • Directing the design and implementation of analyses that will identify requirements related to people, processes and technology
  • Developing and managing project budgets and work plans to complete projects to on-time and on-budget results 
  • Determining resource status and needs, and assisting in deploying resources to ensure organizational goals are met
  • Ensuring the utilization of efficient and effective processes and standards in order to continuously improve the quality of processes, products and services
  • Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project and operational risks
  • Recommending defining characteristics, capabilities, inputs, outputs, and results necessary to describe the required functionality of a system, software application, network, training course, user interface, or any other technology or product 
  • Oversees the creation, execution and documentation of tests necessary to ensure that an application meets performance requirements (technical, functional and user interface)
  • Managing team activities and provide coaching and mentoring to employees
  • Support performance management and career development activities
  • Support training and on-going educational activities


Experience/Skills
Qualifications
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
  • 4 year degree with an emphasis in application development or programming
  • 5 years work experience required with at least 2 in a supervisory capacity
  • 4 years of overall experience in software development lifecycle
  • 2 years of experience in full life cycle Java/J2EE development
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • 4+ years Java development experience utilizing web-based applications such as J2EE, JDK, Struts, spring, and Hibernate
  • Experience with the following technologies, platforms and languages: J2EE 1.4, XML, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Struts
  • Ability to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup by applying interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project goals and realize value
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of an environment that facilitates high performance and motivates individuals to work collaboratively as a team
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
