Location: Tempe, AZ 85284
Duration: 3 - 6 months Contract-to-Hire
Start date: June 30th, 2008

* Develops and modifies complex information systems by formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact finding.
* Interacts with business users. Investigates application issues and problems and analyzes change requests from those users. Identifies and recommends the best course of action required in order to resolve issues or meet needs.
* Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
* Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains those programs.
* Keeps management informed by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information; preparing reports including progress reviews.
* Ensures compliance with requirements, policies and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems and policies; advising management on needed actions.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Experience/Skills
* At least 5 years experience maintaining and developing application systems using AS400 tools, RPGIII, RPGIV, Free form RPG.
* Proven systems analysis, design, and problem solving skills.
* Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with minimal supervision and within multiple time constraints.
* Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Experience with RPGIII, RPG IV, Free form RPG, RPG ILE, RPG support process, RPG: Java, XML, AS400 Server, SQR, SQL, UNIX, Qset, Eclipse, WebSphere development, Tomcat and WebSphere application server.
* Experience supporting accounting and/or fuel applications is a plus.
* Experience in the retail industry a strong plus.
* Knowledge of sub-procedures, service programs, activation groups required. Candidate must understand the proper use of sub-procedures.
* Free form RPG syntax experience.
* Must be proficient with UNIX (AIX and/or Solaris) Experience with embedded SQL required.
* Candidate must be proficient with SQL as a research tool.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field. Applicable work experience can be substituted for a degree.
* Local candidates strongly preferred
