Wonderware has been a leading supplier of manufacturing software since 1987, when the company introduced the first machine interface software based on the Microsoft Windows operating system. Since that time, Wonderware has grown into a global software supplier with multi-industry stability and a 17-year history of successful growth building robust, easy-to-use manufacturing software.

We have an immediate requirement for two APPLICATION ENGINEERS - (1) location can be anywhere in North America - (1) location can be anywhere in Europe.

The successful candidates for this position will have expertise in Invensys Wonderware ArchestrA technology and Invensys Wonderware FactorySuite and an understanding of how to apply the this technology in solutions and products, developing system architecture for Wonderware based products and solutions.

This role is involved with supporting Invensys Wonderware?s Strategic Sales account managers and working with customers, OEMs, SI's and other Invensys companies to guide and support the best implementation of the ArchestrA technology

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a full understanding of the automation marketplace who has the capability to resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This candidate has hands-on experience working with field based automation applications, including Supervisory, SCADA, Historian and MES applications. The candidate that is hired will have the ability to work independently in a virtual team, managing time effectively. The role requires the ability to listen, capture and comprehend customer requirements so as to offer effectively solutions or accurately feedback to Development.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate ideas effectively; and understand the trends in the market place, being able to understand how to prioritize requirements vs. delivery.

DUTIES:
- Provide product application services through on-sites visits, travel up to 50% may be required
- Support project Pre-Sales Activities
o Participate in preparation of the RFP(Q) documents
o Providing technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations
o Participate in the development of Proof of Concept and Pilot Applications
o May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping.
o Provide software development and consultation to prospective clients.
- Support Application Rollout at Client location:
o Support installation and maintenance of company products to ensure that the system is functioning according to specifications.
o Provide answers to customer inquiries concerning system software and applications.
o Interpret customer technical specifications and generates strategies for implementation in production.
o Assists customer in defining detailed application, system, and hardware requirements.
o Prepares detailed software specifications on company products and develops detailed engineering estimates for potential projects.
o Assists in developing risk factors on various applications.
o Supports Engineering in the development phases of new products.
o Work with Application Development team to test Applications
o Participate in the application rollout planning and scheduling
o Elaborate and prepare rollout documentation
o Execute System Tests and Factory Acceptance Tests for software modules
o Prepare Application Training collateral
o Train System Integrators
o Coordinates and/or participates in on-site engineering, start-up and application commissioning.
o Provide Systems integrators and Clients with technical assistance to implement applications
o Recommend Process and Package Improvements and implement
o Provides regular feedback and participate in weekly review meetings with Program Manager and Development Manager



QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years experience with a strong background in applying industrial automation software systems.
2+ years of experience as a Lead Project Engineer.

A serious advantage will be experience implementing industrial automation systems, either DCS, SCADA, PLC applications, having worked with a range of PLCs on the market and Supervisory systems.
