AS/400 RPG -Data Processing / Information Systems Manager / Network Administrator (w/ accounting background)


Location: Elizabeth, NJ
Duration: Full-time/perm


Responsibilities:
• Software support of applications: Vermont Information Processing (VIP), Para Research Payroll System, RVI Imaging Software, RoadNet
• Communicate problems and necessary changes to vendor
• Review and correct critical errors
• Maintain application databases. This includes evaluating and testing new or modified software. Perform software and system testing procedures. Very functionality or programs according to requirements
• Enhance existing versions of software when needed. Program custom changes needed for generic applications.
• Assist user departments in developing written procedures. This includes training staff on the use of computer system.
• Provide technical support to software users and troubleshoot to determine cause of problems.
• Copy back-up data to AS/400
• Hardware support for AS/400 and laser printers
o Determine hardware problems and place service calls
o Order and install operating system upgrades for the AS/400
o Maintain inventory and order toner cartridges and usage kits
o Program Laser printers for custom forms
• Confer with user department to identify system requirements and solve complex business problems
• Design, order and maintain inventory custom forms. This includes invoices, debit/credit memos, Pick label, Split label, stock paper
• RPG Language Programming
• Network Administration
o Interface with Information Technology Department
o Interface with Data Security Department
o TCP/IP support
o Support for network tape back ups
o Support for wireless handheld devices
o Special projects
• PC Support – Provide technical assistance and support to end users related to the following: hardware, software, network connections, and system related issues

Requirements:
• Must be strong in AS/400 and RPG experience
• Network admin and PC Support experience
• Accounting background and/or experience
