We are currently searching for a AS400 Programmer Analyst for a Direct Hire position with a client here in Birmingham.

Responsibilities:
Position will closely with management and end users to investigate, analyze, Design and develop and implement application solutions, provide technical support for end users and documentation of resulting developments, specific modifications or enhancements.

Specific Duties Include:
Systems analysis, design, development, coding, testing, and implementation.
Technical support of end users for applications developed.
Documentation for new development and specific modifications/enhancement.
Maintenance of computer systems.
On call rotation for after hours support.
Sarbanes-Oxley related controls

Requirements:

Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related area plus five years or more programming experience.
Knowledge of RPG IV, IBM CL, basic AS/400 system commands, AS/400 system tools (Query) required as well as experience with MSS, DB2/400, SQL/400, C /Java programming languages.
Experienced with Sarbanes-Oxley related controls
Experienced in the support and development of AS/400 RPG applications.
Strong understanding of AS/400 architecture and interfaces to other systems and devices (ie scanners, PC applications, etc.)
Well developed diagnostic, investigative, and analytical skills.
Proven project management skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft software (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Visio)
Proven ability to work independently and to creatively approach situations.
Strong leadership skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to function in a fast paced environment.df-tc
