Description
Position Summary: Overall responsibility for leading, architecting, maintaining and
supporting a complex, mission critical and multi operating system environment. This is a
hands-on position with management responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, guidance, architecting and supporting a complex and mission
critical environment
Quality driven, detailed oriented, documentation, task management and strong
technical leadership are critical traits in this role
Responsible for maintaining 24/7 mission critical systems and applications on
Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris environments
Operating environment consists a variety of complex and challenging systems and
applications, including but not limited to Sun Solaris Cluster, IBM AIX Cluster,
Oracle, Active Directory, Group Policies, MS-SQL, Citrix, Terminal Services, VMware
ESX, MS SNA, MS HIS, Legato Networker, Symantec Anti-Virus, BEA Tuxedo, IBM
Websphere MQ, Shavlik , PatchLink, EMC SAN
Analyze, modify, and enhance operating systems, computer operations procedures,
and system security
Interact with hardware and software vendors to assure timely resolution to any
issues
Develop and implement procedures for ensuring proactive maintenance of the
production, backup and test environments
Provide production on-call support
Coordinate with Project Management on customer installs and upgrades
Ensure disaster recovery functions/updates are completed
Assist Customer Service in diagnosing applications and customer issues
Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports for capacity planning, monitoring and SLA
compliance
Research, recommend and implement new technologies
Mentor and manage the technical team

Experience/Skills
Strong technical foundation in Unix and Windows System Administration
Hands-on experience and experience managing a technical team
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues
Experience implementing and supporting EMC SAN a plus
Well rounded knowledge in information security
Enterprise data center experience preferred
Minimum of 6 + years information technology experience
Self motivated, goal oriented and meticulous individual, who can adhere to
departmental process and procedures and able to work with minimal supervision
Able to multi-task and manage changing priorities to meet demands of internal and
external customers
Demonstrate ability to contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork through
collaborative behavior and open communications
Excellent analytical, communication (verbal and writing) skills; process-oriented
