Description
1. Assist in the analysis and evaluation of voice, data communications, or server infrastructure systems and communications hardware.



2. May be assigned as project manager. In this capacity, prepare project plans and manage projects to assure objectives are met on time and within cost. Evaluate performance of project team and report performance upon project completion to management.



3. Perform communications or server infrastructure projects, such as: reviewing vendor supplied technical descriptions and performance data and pricing information for applicability to specifications; installing and configuring hardware and software; installing and implementing vendor packages; assessing user needs for communications systems; and recommending voice, server infrastructure or data communications standards.



4. Work independently or with other team members in responding to internal business customers having problems with computers, telephony, network or associated peripheral devices through the trouble ticket system. Investigate nature of problems (such as malfunctioning of hardware devices, associated peripherals and software issues) and correct as necessary.



5. Work independently or with other team members to evaluate outage conditions and ascertain which vendor or support group should be contacted for service. Interface with contracted vendors and or other support group to resolve problems and maintain thorough records of problems encountered, status and action taken.



6. Work independently or with other team members to organize and control all activities

associated with the HFC Beneficial branch openings, relocations, closings process.



7. Work with other team members to document department operating procedures and instructions for others to use when performing HFC Beneficial branch openings, relocations, closures.



8. Work independently or with other team members to install, configure, troubleshoot, repair and maintain PC, Server and Printer hardware within the HSBC Branch Environment.



9. Work independently or with other team members to install, configure, troubleshoot, repair and maintain telecommunication systems within the HSBC branch environment.



10. Work with other team members to document all department operating procedures and instructions for others to use when performing computer, telephony, and network diagnosis and repairs.



11. Work independently or with other team members to produce executive reports on assigned project to keep management apprised of project status, major issues, scope changes, resource changes and milestone achievements or misses.



12. Participate in on call rotation with other team members.



13. Complete other related duties as assigned.



14. Assist in training and orientation of other staff and/or users.



15. Develop proficiency in project management skills.



16. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.



17. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company's Diversity programs.df-tc


Experience/Skills
This position requires an individual with:

* A Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience with major or minor in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field.

* Two to three years of experience in communications or office systems with demonstrated proficiency in specialty area (voice, data, client/server).

Customer service experience with above average written, verbal, and interpersonal ommunications aptitude.

Occasional out of town travel will be required.

This position requires: the ability to work with limited supervision; the ability to make decisions regarding assigned projects independently or with limited direction from management. Provide regular feedback to management of project performance.
