Senior level support engineer preferably with development experience needed to support and troubleshoot the JPMorganChase Investment Management production trading systems, front office and middle office applications. JPMorganChase Investment Management Technology Production Engineers work in a small team dedicated to solving application performance, security, and stability issues. Engineers work in a cross-functional environment including development, networking, operating systems, database, application servers and web serving. Knowledge and understanding of each layer is a critical factor for success. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to fully use and apply standard technical troubleshooting principles. Must have the ability to work on projects and other assignments with minimal direct supervision. Familiarity with financial instruments and portfolio management is highly desirable.

Work in a small team to categorize, prioritize and resolve software application issues, dealing with all levels of JPMorganChase Investment Management corporate and enterprise infrastructure.
Develop appropriate applications support architecture that sustains JPMorganChase's high standards of availability and performance.
Responsible for working with and coordinating the necessary development and technical operations teams to solve application performance, security, and stability issues.
Function as 1st, 2nd & 3rd tier escalation team and manage the resolution of production related issues.
Interface with internal and external business partners.df-tc


Experience/Skills
B.S.C.S. or equivalent work experience required.
Six to ten years of progressive experience in computing, development, architecture and/or client/server and n-tier application experience required. The main responsibility is troubleshooting production issues, solving problems, and implementation of production software.
Three years financial industry support experience
Excellent knowledge of modern software operating systems and experience in building distributed component-based software solutions.
Knowledge and experience with application servers and middleware tools required
Experience with VMS, Sybase Transact SQL and Unix System administration and tuning experience or similar knowledge (Solaris, Linux) required.
Experience with data management, relational or object-oriented systems.
Strong research, investigation and evaluation skills.
Effective skill and experience regarding system behavior and resolution.
Strong system analytic ability and practices.
Experience with successful implementations of highly scalable and highly available systems in a n-tier environment.
Ability to identify and clearly communicate 'patterns' in problem/support requests, in order to influence the prioritization of production bug fixes.
Proven ability as a member of a team and able to communicate technical and production-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to work and effectively prioritize in a highly dynamic work environment that includes a global focus.
Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, auditing, risk analysis, business resumption planning, contingency planning; TCP/IP firewalls, VPNs and other security devices; as well as contract and vendor negotiation experience.
