SkilGroup, Inc. is in immediate need of a Senior Applications Architect. This is the overall architect for the fabric of our clients applications and infrastructure. Qualified candidates need experience in a large web based high transaction environment (10's of 1000s of users, multiple 100s of transactions per second, terabytes of data). Half of the efforts will apply to the Middleware, IIS, Appcenter, BizTalk, and the other half will apply to the infrastructure (servers, network, etc.). This is a total Microsoft environment. Candidates need solid experience with .NET 2.0, SQL Server, Biz Talk, load balancing, high availability, etc. Qualified candidates must have applied knowledge of the following: advanced object oriented programming techniques, methods and structures; advanced data access and update techniques, methods and structures; and advanced multi-tier internet application architectures using Microsoft technologies. Candidates must have detailed applied knowledge on SQL Databases (2000/2005) and knowledge of SharePoint as he/she will help with the implementation. The Senior Architect will have the following responsibilities: lead multiple simultaneous small to medium sized projects and teams; rapidly learn and apply new, emerging application development and integration technologies and techniques; communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats; create and maintain positive, productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel; maintain current knowledge of our clients operational initiatives and issues and to be able to turn those into actionable projects to benefit the organization; find solutions to solving business challenges in a timely manner; advocate policies and procedures throughout the organization in a positive, constructive manner; track and project financial performance of the projects and staff for which the manager is responsible; set project-related commitments and deadlines that are appropriate for the staff performing the tasks; and mentor junior team members on technical and non-technical topics and issues. The Architect will be an active participant in the estimating and budgeting activities in all sizes of projects and other technical and non-technical commitments and defines and optimizes processes used by the rest of the information technology department. This is a non-management job, and more of a team lead (one supporting architect for Research and Development, thought leader for the development teams). The Senior Developer ill be functioning as level 4 support, working directly with vendors for big issues. Other responsibilities include: leads groups of employees and/or contractors/consultants in application architecture and systems design, execution, and testing; oversees programs of multiple simultaneous project and change requests; reports progress to managers, project leads an other required parties as appropriate; independently leads medium to large sized projects and lead medium to large sized teams in their execution of those projects; and has the ability to segment and troubleshoot process and systems issues on cross platform applications. We need individuals who posses architectural vision and show past behavior that looking out at how to best architect a system, how to set it up, how to improve it, etc. is normal behavior for him/her. This person needs to show that he/she has been regularly involved in beta testing new software on the cutting edge of technology; i.e. if the new version is out (SharePoint for example). The Senior Architect will work across the whole system. This is a permanent position for a client in the northwest Chicago suburbs. LOCAL candidates only, please!
