We are currently seeking an Application Architect for a contract in Raleigh, NC, with an initial term of 1 year. Will lead the architecture design and provide guidance direction during the requirements and technical design project phases. Day to day activities will include utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and designs to ensure tasks associated with logical solutions, data modeling, detailed application design, development and unit testing are completed on time with a high degree of quality. Will be viewed as an expert in IT systems architecture. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Makes well-thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous IT architecture issues. Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for team. Acts as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff. Monitors project schedules and costs. df-tc

Experience/Skills
Specific experience in Healthcare Claim applications, very large and complex database solutions, SOA, web services and domain services is sought. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work efficiently to meet aggressive deadlines and produce high-quality results by leveraging strong technical skills. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the other members of the organization including resources from the Enterprise Architecture, System Analysis, Quality Assurance, Technical Services, and Production Support communities to complete conceptual architecture design, application architecture, data architecture, infrastructure architecture and security architecture that will meet business needs. Works closely with business unit and IT staff to identify application development solutions. Researches and evaluates alternatives and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application implementation solution.

EDUCATION >> B.S and/or M.S. in Computer Science or similar field. Formal education in Application Architecture criteria.
