The application architect core responsibilities are to develop and publish architecture standards for the areas responsible for, mentor functional development teams on standards and best practices, provide continuity for major application solution decisions and actively participate in pilot project architecture, design and development.THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL, BASIC AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION. THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED.* Architect enterprise wide application frameworks to promote reuse and maintainability in business applications. * Evangelize enterprise standards and frameworks through training boot camps for different development groups. * Participate/consult with initial phase development of new projects. * Document and publish standards, best practices and reference implementations. * Be able to balance varied tasks and projects and quickly shift focus amongst various systems and applications * Work effectively in a team environment * Will serve as *go to* person in one of the following specialties. o Persistence Architecture * Spring transaction management * Persistence layer design/architecture (Spring JDBC and iBatis) * Batch processing * Scheduling engine (FLUX) * SQL Optimization o Service Oriented Architecture * Enterprise SOA * Enterprise application integration, enterprise service bus, web services (CXF/XFire/JAX-WS). * Cross cutting utilities, frameworks, and aspect oriented programming. * Build process and continuous integration o Presentation Architecture * Spring 2.5 MVC, and Spring Web Flow. * Application security (Spring Security) * Front edge server architecture, caching, reverse proxy, configuration and load balancing. * jQuery, AJAX patterns, JavaScript, DHTML, and CSS * Efficient and user friendly UI design. o Performance * Enterprise application architecture for performance* Performance evaluation and performance diagnostic of production applications * Wily Introscope and JProfiler expertise* Scalable application server architecture.Knowledge, Skill(s), and Ability* Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required in addition to excellent inter-personnel, written, and verbal communication skills.* High degree of leadership and people skills.* High level of integrity, positive attitude, commitment, toughness and people skills.* Ability to establish attainable goals, objectives, and work plans. * Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations.* Ability to effectively communicate in non-technical terms with end users for application development and problem resolution tasks Minimum Requirements:* Master*s Degree or equivalent experience.* Experience configuring and developing with SQL databases* At least 5 years of J2EE application development experience.* At least 3 years of SQL experience.* At least 2 years of experience with application development frameworks.* At least 2 years of experience with Spring Framework.Please contact Collins Lanier 904.997.9960 or email collins.lanier@rht.com
