Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for an APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT - ANALYST to join our team in NASHVILLE, TN.

Job Responsibilities:
Plans, conducts, and coordinates programming application activities. Writes business applications computer software that contain logical and mathematical solutions to business problems or questions. Develops statements of problems and requirements, designs systems and programs, writes programs in computer language for solution by means of data processing equipment. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to be programmed in business applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Typically, the Analyst participates in the design, specification, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems. Designs, codes, tests and documents computer programs of moderate complexity. May participate with customer in design reviews and technical briefings. Requires 3-5 years of programming experience using specialized languages in any combination of pertinent education and experience. Other typical working titles include "Developer."

Typical Duties:
  • Processing EDI files from prospective clients into a SQL Server database
  • Data mining, extracting and mapping field components from disparate formats
  • Creating stored procedures and queries in SQL Server environment
  • Assisting with complex Excel reporting and performing modifications
  • Data conversion between database’s and archived files
    Design EDI interfaces with ETL processing
  • Maintain a winning attitude and improve processes

    SPECIALTY SKILL: SQL Server Products Cluster
    Using SQL Server software applications, develops rules and standards for the access and maintenance of shared data resources using SQL Server. Participates in defining and implementing data security. Produces logical to physical database mapping and table parameters. Creates database schemas and subschemas. Works with application development teams to ensure efficient data access in application programs and to review test benchmarks and statistics. Reviews overall physical database structures for data integrity, performance quality, recoverability, maintenance, and space requirements. Assists technical support in the definition and resolution of database problems. Works with application development teams and systems administrators to troubleshoot and solve complex database performance problems. Tunes and improves application SQL code and database configuration parameters.

    SPECIALTY SKILL: Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications, VBScripting Applications Development
    Supports the design, construction and implementation phases of a system and/or upgrade project. Contributes to lead system, user acceptance and stress test plans. Applies knowledge of applications and business process. Successful completion of required system training. Applications knowledge includes: TSQL, Data Migration, Upgrade, and the appropriate application.

    SPECIALTY SKILL: Object Oriented Production
    Analyses, models, design, constructs and tests reusable classes of objects. The classes of objects may support domain functionality (for example vehicle); domain graphical user interface functionality such as an order entry screen reusable across applications; common data types, such as collection classes; or utilities for communication, persistence, peripherals, and so on. Object-oriented systems are systems composed of objects (conceptual or programmatic abstractions that include data and functionality encapsulated in a single unit), that communicate with one another using explicitly defined interfaces.

    Required Skills:
  • Minimum 2 yrs of SQL Server (T-SQL) development
  • Minimum 3 yrs programming experience using specialized languages
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and Macro/VBA scripting
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to create forms and database structures and small applications in Access
  • All components of EDI data exchange transmissions
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and improve processes

    Desired Skills:
  • Bachelors degree
  • .Net and C# experience preferred
  • Healthcare experience with regards to EDI & ETL routines

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma
