Performs analysis, diagnostics, development, testing anddocumentation of client base software applications; ensures integrity of thedatabase structures ; assists staff in identifying software applicationneeds; works heavily within Microsoft .NET Framework,Java SDK, and application development against MS SQL; develops standaloneapplications, as well as applications for enterprise software and theirintegration into 3 rd party API s; reviews and develops detail systemspecifications and modifies existing applications to accommodate changingbusiness objectives; responsible for defining the infrastructure and dataarchitecture of new applications to include designing, building, testing, andimplementing these applications into the Authority s information technologystructure ; and performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Bachelor's degree incomputer science or related field, plus six years of relevant experience;extensive application development with .NET 2.0 suite and Java SDK; expertlevel proficiency in the following concepts/technologies: .NET (Visual Studio2008: C# or VB.NET), MS SQL Server, Web-based application development (ASP.NET2.0, JAVA, J2EE ), XML, AJAX,XSLT, relational database management systems (RDBMS) and advanced SQLprogramming; well versed in emerging technologies such as Silverlight and AdobeAir; ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technicalprofessionals; possess strong communication, interpersonal skills and problemsolving ability; ability to interact with all levels of customers and staff;strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively; andthe ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment and responsibility; avalid driver s license; and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Jobperformance may require: occasional lifting of items such as boxes ofmaterials, books, etc. with weights not exceeding 75 pounds; climbing a ladder;limited walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and bending; some irregularhours and long workdays occasionally amounting to as much as 50 hours in onework week, and moderate levels of stress. Job performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent tripsto other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
