Description
The second largest operator of Radio Broadcast facilities in the United States, is looking for an exceptional Microsoft SQL Developer to support our enterprise applications infrastructure. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented, has the ability to handle interrupts while fluidly switching between several projects, and takes a "work smarter, not harder" approach. Job Description: Utilizing prior experience with MSSQL Server and your programming skills, you will monitor the performance of our databases, analyzing and refining queries as well as maintaining and enhancing our database architecture and business web applications. Your knowledge of cutting-edge technology and creativity will allow you to partner with our IT Team Members to come up with solutions to problems. Solid Windows Server 2003 Server skills, including scripting and programming, combined with SQL coding and knowledge of ASP.NET, and Macromedia ColdFusion, will give you the knowledge necessary to create scripts and tools that will bridge any gaps in the database. Working knowledge of MSSQL Server replication, as well as experience with high availability and fault tolerant systems will aid you in design and operation of the backend data storage for our enterprise applications. Knowledge of SQL Server database configuration as it relates to Microsoft Great Plains, as well as general accounting knowledge is also desired. Experience with MySQL database and general inter-networking are also preferred but not required. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, service and refine MSSQL Server databases • Investigate and resolve database alerts and events, escalating issues as appropriate • Optimize and validate SQL • Establish database replication procedures and implement on live production systems • Develop and maintain web-based applications used for business reporting and intelligence • Document operational configurations, processes and procedures • Identify measurements and methods for gauging system performance • Ensure availability of database systems • Establish and maintain security and integrity controls • Address the full range of database problems and solve those problems with minimal supervision • Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures in relation to database usage and management • Assist hired consultants and users with Microsoft Great Plains and other software packages REQUIREMENTS Candidate Requirements: • Experience with MSSQL/MySQL cluster setup, optimization, and administration required • Strong knowledge of web database applications, and analytical programming techniques required • Experience with the following technologies: MSSQL Server/MySQL, Windows 2003 Server, ASP.NET, IIS, Macromedia ColdFusion, Microsoft Great Plains • Proficient in the full database lifecycle of design, implementation, support and maintenance activities • Experience in SQL tuning, writing complex queries, triggers and transaction logs • Experience in Web Application development and maintenance • Experience with database design and layout • Ability to work independently, on a team and in a fastpaced environment • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
