PEROT SYSTEMS CORPORATION is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. It is currently looking for a APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST to join our team in ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA.

Job Responsibilities:
We are currently seeing a Senior i-Series programmer/analyst to join a development team which supports a multi-site healthcare provider. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in I-Series software development or equivalent experience is preferred. This position is part of a large development staff, responsible for technical analysis, design and coding of non-package software on projects of varying sizes and coordinating with business analysts and QA technicians. Some travel may be required.

The Specialist plans, conducts, and coordinates programming application activities. Writes business applications computer software that contain logical and mathematical solutions to business problems or questions. Develops statements of problems and requirements, designs systems and programs, writes programs in computer language for solution by means of data processing equipment. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to be programmed in business applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.

Required Skills:



  • Recent i-Series or AS400 experience

  • Strong ILE/RPG i-Series skills

  • Strong ILE/CL

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Desired Skills:



  • Knowledge of use of advanced application constructs --triggers, SQL, data queues, system APIs

  • Experience with Websphere, Net.Data, ILE/C, Java, and HTTP services a plus.
