Description
Requesting resumes for a contract position as the Testing Lead for the Bulk Rail Inventory Management (BRIM) project. This position would require creation of detailed test scenarios and scripts for all phases in the software testing lifecycle as well as programming. This position is also expected to perform development tasks also. The position would be based in our Roanoke, Virginia office. The projected start date for this position would be June 5, 2006. The anticipated length of service contract is one year.

The successful candidate will be become a member of the BRIM Development team.The candidates responsibilities include:
Serving as the Testing Lead for the entire application:

Create and maintain detailed test scripts for use during all phases of testing.

Work with Business Partners, other IT development teams, and the vendor to understand detailed requirements.

Initiate and document results from all phases of testing.

Travel to different sites during User Acceptance Testing and Roll-out (this could be extensive) .

Application development.

Establish test environment and coordinate testing phases with team members and users.

Plan and monitor testing effort.

Experience/Skills
Experience required:

5+ years in application testing.

3+ years in application development.

Working with users to discuss problem analysis.

Use Case Methodology.

Education: 4-yr College Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.


Skills Required:

Extensive experience with testing strategies and the software testing lifecycle.

Experience developing detailed test plans and scripts.

Experience executing and documenting test scripts.

Software Quality Assurance experience - unit, peer, system, integration, vendor, performance, and user acceptance testing.

Application programming experience.

Strong problem solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus.

Development Technology (experience or knowledge would be a definite plus):

Java J2EE, Servlets, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, COBOL, JCL, DB2, IBM MQ Series.

Other desired skills:
Experience required:

5+ years in application testing.

3+ years in application development.

Working with users to discuss problem analysis.
