Job Description

This is a permanent placement with our client in Seattle, WA. At this time, they are only able to consider candidates that are US Citizens.

Overview:

To provide management oversight to Application Support teams which includes the following groups/function; Database Administration and Applications Support.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for financial budget of Application Support and Database Administration
Overall responsibility for Application Support
Manages change request to existing applications, and application performance, capacity, and availability
Overall responsibility for DBA functions of SQL Server and DB2, and system performance, capacity, and availability
Delivery of operational functionality of production systems including all systems used for day-to-day operations.
Oversight of activities of call center, help desk, and technology acquisition. Directs work of out-of-state and offshore vendor teams
Management of the client's technology disaster recovery and IT business continuity programs
Ongoing acceptance into operational production of technology development - including the creation and ongoing utilization (in cooperation with the technology development and QA teams) of production acceptance criteria
Participation in IT forecasting and IT audits, division and department planning

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience
10 or more years technology leadership experience including direct supervision required
Minimum of 2 years experience as a senior manager (manager of managers)
Experience with applications and systems development, and the support of large packaged applications
Experience with business development and operational support
Experience managing vendor relationships
Knowledge of general insurance industry practices
Knowledge of JCL, COBOL, Microsoft Stack, DB2, Microsoft SQL; and Waterfall and Agile Programming methods
Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Schedule Plus and Project
