Description
Robert Half Technology is accepting applications for an Application Support Analyst for a contract to permanent position for one of our Seattle area clients. This role combines a customer-centered approach to troubleshooting and resolution via scripting and occasional issue escalation. The Application Support Analyst will want to have daily customer interaction as well as a focus on working on the business systems scripting issue troubleshooting business systems. The Application Support Analyst is dedicated to supporting and troubleshooting internal systems and working with internal customers and their requests to address system issues. Requires someone with a systematic approach to problem solving and proactive nature to find and resolve system issues and fix them when possible or escalate when necessary to a development team. The focus is on business applications and change control issues. The Application Support Analyst position will not be project based in which you will work on one project for three weeks or a month. The Application Support Analyst will be working on a variety of issues as well as projects and resolving support issues on a daily basis. The Application Support Analyst will be scripting in Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005 and some C# development. You will be creating administrative tools to automate routines to support the systems. Other duties include: Works with customers to provide support phone, web, or in-person support as necessary to successfully resolve requests. Trouble-shoots business applications to resolve technical related issues including application and data problems. Develops, maintains and executes testing plans for business applications including initial implementations, enhancements, or upgrades. Works on special projects as assigned using technical expertise with information systems as well as participates in the planning, analysis, selection, design, implementation, and maintenance of business solutions and products to meet the business needs, including integrating new solutions into existing systems. Develops and maintains technical and user documentation for business applications, services, processes, and support. Creates and manages support requests and change control documents related to modifications to production applications. Supports the infrastructure team in meeting operational requirements for applications in production. Provides subject matter expertise on business processes and technical solutions. Works both independently and as a valued member of a team. Supports projects and delivers assignments that meet target deadlines and objectives. Insures business solutions are aligned with the organizations objectives. Communicates clearly and professionally with internal and external customers including technical and non-technical staff, management, field offices, and vendors. Participates in developing, supporting, and meeting the team and department Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Experience/Skills
Requirements of the Application Support Analyst position: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience supporting business solutions. A minimum of an AA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred. 3+ years professional work experience with technologies and business/systems ideally in Business Applications support or CRM systems ideal. A combination of QA(testing identifying bugs, reproducing bugs and isolating them as well as experience troubleshooting issues as well as working with change management and/or change control. Financial systems experience is a nice to have as is experience with Reporting tools. HTML development highly desired to support and troubleshoot web related issues. This position requires demonstrated technical skills in using Microsoft technologies. Strong communication skills and the ability to write and speak clearly on technical subjects to a variety of audiences in the organization (including technical and non-technical) are essential. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes a proactive approach in trying to address and fix issues before they come up as well as looking for ways to maximize systems for end users. Flexible, adaptable to change, and able to maintain positive, supportive, and effective working relationships with colleagues and customers. They contribute to continuous quality improvement by identifying and recommending improvements to the services and support provided by the individual, team, and department. Attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, critical thinking, judgment, ability to meet deadlines, and high quality customer service are required. The ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team of professionals and manage projects and tasks are essential in this position. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively under pressure and in stressful circumstances. A balance of assertiveness and diplomacy is critical.
