Description
Robert Half Technology is accepting applications for an Application Support Engineer for a one of our clients which provides world class full-service marine terminal management and planning software, logistics chain solutions, and professional services to terminal operators and transportation companies, which is located in the South Seattle area. The Application Support Engineer will work with a team comprised of in-house application specialists to support the development, testing, deployment and production use of the software.

    Primary Responsibilities of the Application Support Engineer include:
  • Work closely with customer sites to identify and understand key process and technical needs for primary products and responsibilities.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and solve customer issues as they are escalated from the Service Center and field support personnel via Remedy Tickets.
  • Stay up to date with application changes as they move through the software development lifecycle to production release.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex or high priority issues immediately or determine resources required to resolve.
  • Maintain accurate, high-quality and timely documentation for all steps and activities undertaken in order to resolve issues.
  • Understand critical elements of all applications to provide secondary support.
  • Share after hours on-call support responsibilities.

Experience/Skills
  • 2+ years experience working with database technology; solid knowledge of database maintenance and management.
  • 1+ years experience with Linux Operating Systems.
  • Solid Microsoft SQL skills, including the ability to write Microsoft SQL scripts.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows Operating System.
  • Experience supporting applications running on wireless networks.
  • TCP/IP Networking.
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • On Call time after hours and on weekends and holidays will be required on a rotating basis.
  • Some travel maybe required.
