Position Summary:
This position requires an individual with an understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways; provides onsite support for off the shelf and custom developed client applications and must possess a wide range of skills including the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with end users, vendors, and technical staff.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.The person selected for this position will exhibit personality traits that will blend with and benefit our organization.
Functional Description:
  • Plan, design, develop and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
  • Install software, perform upgrades, develop test plans and coordinate testing with users
  • Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs.
  • Analyzes relationships between database platforms to define and map interfaces.
  • Create queries and reports over relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server & AS/400 – DB2) and flat file systems using Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel and Crystal Reports.
  • Write Business Requirements, Functional Design and Technical Specifications for system interfaces, queries and reports
  • Develop custom reports using MS Access & Crystal Reports over AS400, Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Perform data imports and conversions using MS Excel, MS Access and SQL Server
  • Create MS Excel Pivot Tables and Charts to analyze monthly costs and units of production
  • Develop and present MS Access Query and Report training to management and clerical staff
  • Perform process analysis
  • Write Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents
  • Define and maintain SQL 2000 DTS packages and SQL Agent jobs in SQL Enterprise Manager for internet and intranet processes
  • Plans and directs studies of potential electronic data processing applications.
  • Develops and installs programs to support general business applications running on PCs.
  • Write user and technical documentation
  • May make hardware or software purchasing recommendations
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Upgrading Database software
    Education and Typical Years Experience
    3 years of experience in IT field or BS in Computer Science with 1 years experience or MS in Computer Science
    Special Requirements
    Ability to translate technical information to non-technical system users
    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the enterprise including senior-level management, business users, developers and technical staff through written and verbal communications
    Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
    Troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills
    Ability to take after hours on call

    Technical Skills
    Ability to troubleshoot and fix issues in C#, ASP, ASP.NET
    Ability to write queries, troubleshoot and fix code in SQL, PL/SQL on SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 10g
    N-Tier architecture
