Apex Systems in currently seeking an Applications Development Supervisor responsible for managing team projects and determining data processing requirements, Some additional responsibilities will include the monitoring process of programmers against commitments, supporting programmers with crisis management, problem analysis and resolution, while provide technical expertise to the team, facility and our client.
Key Responsibilities:
. Supervises team programmers by monitoring their progress, directing resource allocation, scheduling of programming resources, assisting in career and counseling objectives, and providing technical support and communication to create and foster a team environment.
. Coordinates and directs the project planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of new and ongoing projects by prioritizing projects for Programmers, while establishing time lines and cost estimates for projects. Maintaining and reporting project management performance criteria and documentation to ensure the project planning is organized to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
. Assists Programmers with problem analysis/resolution by helping them with crisis management (timelines, costs, etc.), technical error (root) cause analysis and reporting and prevention to meet statement of work terms.
. Participate in developing and enforce system design methodologies and standards
. Provides documentation for project reviews, transitions and justification of invoiceable items for our clients. Also, will gather will requirement and address questions and concern with clients on an as need basis.
Required Experience
. Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience (prefer BSCS).
. Must have minimum 3 years prior supervisory experience managing teams of 8 or more
. Preferrably, in order to provide and support effective and efficient applications the candidate comes from a programming background and has extensive (5 plus years) knowledge/expertise in one or both of the following categories
COBOL, MVS, JCL, MACH
SUN SOLARIS, Microfocus COBOL, PERL
. Strong design ability. Good knowledge of PC tools for documentation and communication. Strong general data processing expertise. Must stay abreast of available technologies.
Preferred Experience
. Extensive knowledge of BCS product offerings and manufacturing requirements.
. Functional understanding of all third party software packages in use by BCS including Dialogue, Compuset, Streamweaver.
