Description
This position is responsible for delivering engineering solutions for residential, commercial and industrial solar applications by means of CAD drawings of mechanical and electrical sub systems, system integration, engineering analysis and system design. By providing system design, cost estimating and equipment selection services to the sales team, this position helps promote increased sales while insuring proper system design, installation and operation to achieve minimal project liability. In addition, the qualified individual carries direct responsibility with respect to integration of commercial control systems, and set-up and execution of these systems in the field.

Provide STS and CSTS product application sizing and design assistance to internal and external Sales and Service staff, Company Reps, Distributors and Customers in the form of technical drawings, piping and wiring diagrams and complete control solutions.
Develop complete integrated system solutions for the residential and commercial market sectors following inquiries of sales staff, engineers, distributors, contractors, property managers and maintenance departments.
Assist the Technical Service department with in-house training for specific product applications to broaden everyone's system understanding.
Support the development of technical support documents for BTC's products and maintain the technical documents for all products.
Application design work and troubleshooting both in house and in the field.
Assist Architects and Engineers in the design and specification of STS and CSTS water heater and space heating systems.
Assure updates to product applications are kept current to include new products and applications in a timely manner.
Sound engineering practices are followed in all efforts to support the goals of the Company.

Education and Experience Guidelines:

4 year Mechanical Engineering Degree and 3 to 5 years equivalent experience.
Strong working experience with hydronic heating and commercial STS system design and installation.
Commercial awareness with professional understanding of business operations.
Well-developed analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Technical proficiency in related field.
Ability to produce reports on technical issues.
Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a good understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems.
Good understanding of network communications technology ('3 Internet, Intranet, VPN, TCP/IP, Ethernet, etc.
Good understanding of industry protocols ('3 Modbus, BACnet, N2, LON, etc.)
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Visio.
Effective oral and written communication skills, particularly to assist in dealing effectively and professionally with suppliers, customers, staff and management.
