Role: Technology Applications Engineer
Assignment: Enterprise Data Warehouse
Location: Louisville, KY

Assignment Capsule
As a Technology applications engineer you will: perform analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and support tasks in order to develop, maintain, and enhance computer solutions for business needs. You will also act as a group leader, partnering with project managers to transform business requirements into actual designs.

  • Work with teams on design, development, testing and deployment of projects affecting BI applications/solution
  • Interpret production trends and abnormalities in order to determine root causes
  • Answer incoming (internal)customer calls, resolving specific questions about specific applications
  • Create process improvements for various business segments
  • Participate in Humana's Disaster Recovery exercises
  • Part of rotating on-call 24 hour support group

Role Essentials
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Mastery of Unix, ORACLE, PL/SQL
  • Experience with software development life cycle
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Access


Role Desirables
  • Previous experience with IBM Mainframes
  • Working knowledge of DB2, EZ Trieve, and the TOAD application.
  • Experience with any BI tools
  • Experience with any ETL tools like Informatica etc.
  • Experience with any Agile methods of development
  • Experience with healthcare and/or insurance


Reporting Relationships
  • You will report to a Technology Manager. This area is under the leadership of the SVP & Chief Service & Information Officer
