Description
  • Long-term assignment in San Jose, CA. Permanent or contract/contract-to-hire.
  • Responsible for leading the definition and design of the enterprise architectures for large clients with a focus on application and system development technologies involving Java and/or .NET.
  • Oversee the design and development of project roadmaps and recommend/design IT systems for hardware, software, and network technologies.
  • Review all applications developed to ensure they follow the defined roadmap in relation to the architecture.
  • Work and interface at the C-level as needed.
  • Be comfortable presenting technical design, technical solutions and enterprise architecture solutions to clients.
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of E-Business solutions and implementations and should be familiar with standard E-Business frameworks and models.
  • Prior responsibility delivering final development of complex E-business solutions is a must.
  • Experience working with an offshore company preferred but not required.
  • Should be process-minded with a strict regard to detail.
  • Will be fundamentally responsible and accountable for final output of projects.
  • Oversee all architectural aspects of solutions.
  • Develop plans for the conceptual/logical/physical architectures.
  • Lead architecture team consisting of infrastructure, data, and application competencies.
  • Salary to $125K + bonus for permanent. Contract rate is $50/hr + OT (which should be 20-30%)(no benefits).

    Required Skills:

  • MUST HAVE served as an outside consultant LEAD ARCHITECT on 20,000+ man-hour applications development projects (Java or .net) from start to finish for a top tier consulting firm! No exceptions!
  • Must have completed at least 3 projects of at least 20,000+ man-hours as the architect.
  • Permanent positions only with a Top Tier Consulting firm (no contracts available).
  • Bachelors degree required. MBA, MS or other advanced degree preferred.
  • If permanent employee, then 80%+ travel during the week after assignment in San Jose completes is possible.
  • Must have stayed on a technical career track and be able to code (won't be asked to code but will have to answer technical coding questions during the interview).
  • 12 or more years IT with 5+ years architecture experience.
  • Experience in several of the following technologies: COM+, ASP, Visual Basic, .NET, C/C++, Java/J2EE, RDBMS, MS SQL, Oracle, DB2, Unix, Linux, WinTel, IBM Mainframe, Scripting, Internet Technologies, IBM WebSphere Suite (Hosted on Mainframe a plus), SOAP, XML.
  • Expert experience in several of the following areas is also required: Object-Oriented Design, Web Services, messaging solutions and technologies, messaging and transaction management, IBM Mainframe systems and applications, systems integration (EAI/ETL Tools) especially TIBCO and SeeBeyond, operations and support processes (Change Control, QA and Testing, etc.), Documentum, Vignette, development of international applications (Methods to account for language, currency, encryption, etc.), remote access solutions and technologies.df-tc
