Description
We have a permanent position for a Manager of Applications Support for a client in St. Petersburg, FL.
This position requires a manager with technical hands-on experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Requirements:
3-5 years managing an application support team of at least 5-6 people team, preferably at a company with 200 - 500 employees and preferably in a dotcom environment.
A background in production support; technical applications and system support experience.
7-10 years of overall experience managing, administering, supporting and monitoring a network operating system and applications across multiple physical locations and NT System Technical experience as a System Administrator or Application Support Engineer,
A thorough understanding of ecommerce systems and applications: specifically, Web based applications using IIS 6, ASP.net, Application Center 2000, SQL Server2000, and Load Balancing HW.
Experience with typical network services and applications including file and print, SQL Server 2000, messaging, firewall, desktop management, mail servers, and Web hosting.
3 years of real experience in the following areas:
Microsoft IIS Management in a clustered environment

Microsoft Application Center usage

SSL certificate usage and implementation

Web analysis tools, Webtrends, Alertsite, etc

Administering desktop operating systems (Win 2000 & Win 2003) and Web based applications.

Management Skills:
Detail oriented, communicative, ability to multitask, Highly motivated, independent, good in prioritizations and result oriented.

Strong team building and mentoring skills with proven track record enforcing standards for everyday business operations.


Responsibilities:

Effectively assign projects to direct reports ensuring their accurate and timely completion.

Manage the day to day operation and staff for both Systems and Applications Support teams for a high-availability e-commerce web site.

Provides application support (administration, configuration, and monitoring) for both off the shelf and home grown applications in a 24/7 highly available and clustered web-based environment.

Performs root cause analysis and fault isolation for troubleshooting environmental, server, and application availability issues.

Leads projects involving the deployment, administration and support of business critical applications onto the Win2003/2000 platforms.

Works closely and coordinates with other IT managers and non-technical business units to implement and define the support structure for different business projects.

Participates in the testing of applications and systems and implements production releases and configuration updates.

Personnel management, leadership and mentoring.

Development of standard operating procedures for the day-to-day operations.

Project scoping, planning, and effective team effort coordination.

Documentation at different levels.
