Job Descripton:
Under limited supervision, develop and document comprehensive approach to managing the flow of information systems data and associated metadata from creation and initial storage to the time when it becomes obsolete and is deleted. Develop and document enterprise storage infrastructure architecture for AIX, Linux, Windows and z/OS platforms. This includes policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. Recommend appropriate infrastructure hardware/software and develop a strategic roadmap to transition the enterprise from the current infrastructure to the future infrastructure. Perform installation and maintenance of systems hardware/software.
Required Skills:
Experience with IBM Mainframe Storage Administration, including DASD, tape and optical.
Experience in large data center operations.
Experience with IBMs z/OS.
Experience with encryption and key management.

What role will the consultant have?
Develop enterprise storage infrastructure architecture for AIX, Linux, Windows and z/OS platforms. This includes policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.

Maintain Storage/operating system and/or software being used on mainframe computer systems.
Assist computer operations personnel and vendor customer engineers in the resolution of hardware/software problems related to Storage Administration.
Serve as Primary support for monitoring performance of Storage system with strong enough skills to backup z/OS primary support. Isolate, correct and improve operational efficiency through changes to the software packages or reconfiguration of hardware.
Manage all Projects associated with the Storage/Operating System using pre-defined DOL methodologies.
Perform software maintenance and installs using SMP/E.
Provide Project team support to other groups within IT.
Report progress on a weekly basis of status on all assigned work tasks.
