JOB SUMMARY:

This position manages the team that carries global responsibility for the OS400, TSM and SAN/Storage technologies. The manager of the group sets the strategic direction for each of these platforms, directs the senior technicians that design and engineer the technologies and co-ordinates the provision of global/3rd level support for each platform.
The team is responsible for ensuring the global stability of the technologies and for collaborating with peers within BST, across Global Shared Services organization, and Wyeth IS in general, to ensure that technical solutions are designed and implemented in compliance with global standards and meet client driven business requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage OS400 groups' process, function, and enterprise visibility.
Manage SAN/Storage groups' process, function, and enterprise visibility.
Manage TSM groups' process, function, and enterprise visibility.
Strategic planning, budgeting, support of corporate objectives.
Mentor others on managing HR processes, coaching, and developing employees.
Manage organizational, vendor, affiliate, and staff relationships.
Effective use and management of corporate assets and budgets.
Advises senior level management in long-term IT planning, may be asked to consult with senior management concerning technological advancements. Leads efforts to build collaborative partnerships with internal and external groups.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

BS/MS + 15 yrs. or Equiv. Exp.
PhD + 6-7 yrs.

Must have demonstrated leadership, management skills and strong written and verbal communications.
10-15 years of experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams in a complex matrix IT environment.
Direct accountability for budgets and deadlines of unit.
