Job Summary

The primary function of an Associate, QA, is to understand the technology solution being developed for a client and to ensure quality of the solution through manual and automated testing methods. You will work as a member of a great testing team. Key responsibilities include understanding design documentation, seek appropriate clarification on design details from clients, design, write and execute test cases, report defects and coordinate with clients to get these defects resolved. You could also be involved in test planning and project processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of different phases of testing.
  • Understands the technology solution from an end-user perspective and suggests improvements to the solution based on an understanding of end user requirements.
  • Understands and translates the client's business requirements into test cases and articulate discrepancies between actual and expected results encountered when executing test scenarios.
  • Prepares data for a testing assignment by writing simple SQL queries.
  • Understands the design approach to automation and follows it when carrying out automation
  • Automates test cases using a standard test automation tool.
  • Writes test scripts of varying complexity.
  • Effectively liaise with the clients to get an issue resolved.
  • Has some knowledge of planning and its value
  • Participates in a mid-level planning exercise
  • Mentors peers on the team


    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 1+ years experience in testing.
  • Should have knowledge/worked on any test automation tools- Winrunner, Loadrunner, Rational Robot etc.
  • Should have exposure to any defect tracking/incident management tool - Test Director, Remedy, PVCS etc.
  • Ability to effectively work with Global project teams and clients
  • Frequent travel may be required for portions of a project
