Technical procedure documentation for the production Cash Equities platform

Job Family Description:

Performs and coordinates the analysis and design of business systems. Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of the needs of the assigned customer group from the business and technical perspective. Works closely with clients and with other system groups to capture business requirements and see them through implementation. Develops and executes systems testing. Acts as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups.

Equities Technical Writer Position

Position Summary

The Technical Writer has the primary responsibility to document and maintain updates to the Cash Equities production environment. Additionally provide documentation for the support procedures 'Run Books' that are needed to operate the environment. This position will also support the creation of weekly senior management communication presentations based on input from Program Managers, Project Managers and team leads.

Business coverage and Location

This position will cover technical analysis for the Cash Equities production environment in both North America & Europe.

Job Responsibilities

" Work closely with project managers, release management and production support users to document changes to the existing production enviroment

" Verify and validate the production environments and secure sign off from the appropriate stakeholders

" Work with project managers, team leads, senior management to create/update weekly communication presentations based on input from these groups.

General Experience Requirements

" Minimum of 2 years experience as a Technical Writer supporting a Cash Equities business

" Equities market knowledge and a strong familiarity with trading, trading workflows

" Production Support including exposure to live environments and support procedures.

" Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills (writing sample required for onsite interviews)

" Proven usage of standard writing/communication tools eg Visio, Power Point , Word & Excel

Specific Business/Technical Experience

" Use of FIX as a standard message protocol

" iSeries knowledge would be a 'nice to have'
