Position Description ? Senior Business Analyst

About the Project:

Investor Reporting 2 (IR2) is a medium-scale (8-10 million records), high-performance transaction mortgage servicing system, which will be used to run the Home Affordable Modification Program announced by the administration. It implements a standardized, streamlined process to modify loans regardless of current holders (ie, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Private Label Security or Bank Portfolio). Its purpose is to shadow-service mortgages which have been modified under the program in order to prevent foreclosure. IR2 is being developed using proven technologies, including PL/SQL, ORACLE, Ab-Initio and Java following industry best practices for development.

About the Team:

The IR2 Functional Development team is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and providing Test and Production support for the IR2. Functionality includes setting up servicers in the program, boarding the modified loans, tracking loan payment per modified terms, and calculating compensation to borrower and servicer under the program. This is a large team environment. In developing and supporting IR2 functionality, team members work closely with members of supporting teams such as Requirements, Architecture, Database Management, Test, Technical Operations and Business Operations. The project team will meet an aggressive development schedule.

About the Position:

The Senior Business Analyst will work closely with the business unit as well as the technical development team, responsible for translating business requirements into functional specifications, process flow and use cases. As part of the technical team, he/she will work closely with the developers in designing screen flow, screen layout and reports, clarifying requirements, analyzing and defining test scenarios and test cases and other analytical tasks as needed.


Responsibilities:
? Analyze new business functions and document high quality functional requirements. The documentation of functional requirements includes business narrative requirements, use cases, and process flows. Requirements must meet the needs of internal and external users of the system and must include proper accounting and process controls. Functional requirements include both new business systems as well as enhancements to business functionality of existing systems
? Work closely with development and test team to review technical specifications, assist in developing comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and other relevant test documentation
? Participate in test execution and defect resolution
? Manage to aggressive project timelines. Large complex projects that are critical to key corporate objectives require the individual to have excellent time management, project management, and multi-tasking skills
? Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:
? A bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and business experience
? A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, acquisitions, business operations and knowledge of secondary mortgage activities with a minimum of three years of requirement analysis and management
? Successful candidate must have exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities. Candidate must have a keen understanding of Fannie Mae data and systems and a strong understanding of Servicing, Acquisitions and Operation processes
? Successful candidate must be able to work independently and assume responsibility for major project deliverables with minimal to no supervision. Additionally, successful candidate must have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments at once
? Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment are required
? Candidate must have an understanding of the systems development lifecycle, including developing business requirements, designing test scripts, and executing test plans
? Experience with requirements management tools (ie DOORS, RequisitePro, etc.)
? Knowledge of or experience with various Software tools for defect/issue management (Clear Quest, ClearCase, Mercury quality Center, etc.)
? Experience with computers required. Working knowledge and demonstrated use of Microsoft Access, Excel, and all other Microsoft Software, such as, Visio, Project, etc.
? Overtime required as needed to meet periodic deadlines

Nice to Have Skills:
? Strong Fannie Mae and/or mortgage industry experience preferred
? Working knowledge of Web applications desirable
? Experience with end user query tools (Rapid SQL) desirable
? MBA/CPA a plus

Qualification Rating FNMACompany Default Category 5 years of related requirements/analysis experience. 5 Yrs. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field. Yes Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). 3 (Moderately Strong) of 5 (Expert) Excellent knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). 3 (Moderately Strong) of 5 (Expert) FNM and Financial Industry experience desired.
