PURPOSE:

To provide primary business content expertise, managing the data integration, and direction for new business processes, new technology and data interfaces in order to improve merchandising business performance, specifically leading this effort on data integrations/interface projects relating to SUPERfusion. Develop common and integrated business processes and technology systems. Serve as an internal consultant to management and users with a primary responsibility for the systems and processes and data sets used within Merchandising. Serve as a Change Management Leader to all respective customers by providing guidance and plans in the areas of designing and deploying processes, systems and data sets that execute and deliver across the new enterprise. The incumbent interacts with other Business Change Managers, IT staff, Business Consultants, Corporate VP’s and Directors, Business Development Managers, divisional pricing staffs, and retail operations, providing expert advice and direction around SUPERVALU’s data, systems, tools and processes. The Business Change Manager, supports Center Store, Fresh and Our Own Brands, and must provide merchandising business expertise and direction to the company’s strategic Merchandising and Marketing initiatives. To that end, the manager must provide expert content knowledge and business requirements to the enterprise.

The focus of the Business Change Manager is one of developing and managing the integration and migration strategies that enable the accurate execution of programs in each marketing area. The position has decision authority to direct the timely and accurate creation and implementation of the integration rules, systems and related processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes plans, develops and deploys new functionality for merchandising functions across the SUPERVALU enterprise.
  • Provides leadership and content expertise for company’s merchandising systems
  • Directs and manages on-going system enhancements/changes, prioritizes work with input from users and management
  • Maintains highly collaborative working relationship with other Business Change Managers, Supply Chain, Finance, and Corporate IT counterparts.
  • Provides requirements and direction for business processes, technology, testing, training and data sets
  • Develops standards and strategies for integration
  • Develops supporting service level and system migration strategies in concert with corporate IT and merchandising management staff
  • Develops systems and processes to achieve high degree of market and store level execution supporting corporate merchandising
  • Develops supporting business processes, data transmissions, and reports
  • Migrates over time to one Merchandising Systems, according to the project deployment schedule
  • During each pilot phase, verifies a high degree of testing and confidence in Merchandising Systems before full rollout, given the system’s mission-critical nature
  • Develops work-arounds and strategies to deal with any possible technology problems identified to ensure uninterrupted business flow
  • Develops software updates and changes with outside consultants as needed to develop the necessary technology tools
  • Specifies and validates testing requirements for software packages and business processes
  • Directs and manages the training methods for merchandising systems, securing resources across numerous departments as needed

    PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct / Indirect: 1 or 2 salaried analysts
  • Indirect: working with IT project managers to ensure the on-time, on-budget, to-scope and to-benefit delivery of new tools and systems.
  • Indirect: working with project specific staff assigned temporarily to develop, deploy or train new systems and processes (3-24 months)

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four year college degree preferred
  • 10 years of business experience with track record on delivering results in the areas of data / item management
  • Strong experience in managing changes and improving business performance and efficiency
  • Track record on developing new information systems, data bases and measurements
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and develop creative, innovative solutions to business challenges
  • Leadership skills to lead cross functional teams
  • Strong strategic thinking as well as implementation focus
  • Ability to pragmatically apply process discipline in a complex environment
  • Have a decided bias for conductive work that will lead to action
  • Project management skills with an emphasis in business driven technology projects
  • Proven track record of effective, efficient and creative management reporting process implementation

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
