Description
PLANIT Technology Group is currently seeking a Business/IT Analyst for a permanent position with our client in Chesapeake, VA.

Description:
The role for the Business/IT Analyst is to evaluate the needs of the client from a technical perspective and document those needs into proposals, work scope definitions or implementation documents. While the position is not a sales position, the Analyst will be used as a resource by the account management team to assist in the technically oriented discussions with existing clients and prospective customers.

Job responsibilities include project definition, facilitating feature/function prioritization, defining requirements with internal and external customers, and assuring development efforts are aligned with client expectations. The Analyst must not only identify immediate client needs, but also discern underlying functionality, unspoken requirements, and strategic opportunities.

Specific duties:
* Execute the client's business and technical needs in documentation intended for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Peer review, edit and format technical documentation created by others.
* Coordinate with the production team to ensure software deliverables meet documented requirements.
* Assist in testing software deliverables.
* Create user manuals and assist client training.

Desired experience:
* Candidate must be familiar with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and Perl/PHP/Python) along with .NET
* Direct experience in web interface or software UI development
* Business analysis, requirements analysis, software design, and software testing
* Understanding of the technical issues of user interface, usability, algorithms and scalability
* Background in web or desktop application development

Background Required:
* Minimum 5 years relevant experience within the software industry
* User documentation or technical writing experience
* Understanding of the software development life cycle, especially requirements definition
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
* Software analysis or programming experience not required, but very highly valued
* Prospective candidates must be able to obtain a Clearance to be qualified for this position. No Visa candidates at this time.
